A floor plan builder for events, and everything that gets sold off the plan
What it is
Floorset is a floor plan builder for events. Build the plan from the venue's own drawing, publish it as an interactive public map, and sell the stands and sponsorships off the same plan the visitors are looking at. Built and operated by Fungible Capital Pty Ltd.
The problem it solves
Event organisers do not draw their own floor plans. The venue sends a PDF, the organiser sends it to a vendor, and the vendor's draughtsmen redraw it by hand. The established tool in this market is ExpoFP, which was quoted to us at roughly R70,000 per event with revisions charged individually.
That per-event pricing is the whole problem. The shows large enough to justify it get a proper interactive plan; every smaller conference gets a JPEG.
What it does
- Floor plan editor. Stands, feature areas, entrances and facilities, drawn in real metres — or read straight out of the venue's own technical drawing rather than traced by hand.
- Publishing. The finished plan goes onto the event website as an interactive public map.
- Sellable stands and sponsorships. Stands and sponsorship positions are sold off the same plan the visitors see, so what is available and what is taken is one source of truth.
Where it runs
Next.js and TypeScript on Vercel, with the canvas built on Konva. The venue's drawing is read in the browser and never uploaded, which is what makes it usable on a plan released under NDA.
It is in-house software built to replace a per-event licence, so the marginal cost of the next event's floor plan is zero — which is precisely the shows that could never justify a five-figure fee.
